Landy McLandface?

Southampton charity challenges public to get creative and name its BySea Land Rover.

Southampton-based maritime charity Sailors’ Society is asking members of the public to name its mobile BySea coffee Land Rover, and be in with a chance of winning a cafetière and a three-month subscription to its coffee.

The as-yet unnamed BySea vehicle will be at this weekend’s Beaulieu Simply Land Rover Show on Sunday 25 June and the charity is inviting people to show their creative side.

Adam Stacey, Sailors’ Society’s director of development, said: “We’ve had a few suggestions so far including Landy McLandface and the Lean Mean Coffee Machine but we thought we’d challenge people to come up with something a little more original.”

Sailors’ Society launched BySea coffee last August and has recently released new coffee pods and ground blends from areas where the charity supports seafaring communities in Africa, Asia and South America.

The charity is approaching its bicentenary in March and as a way of diversifying its income opened its first BySea Coffee Lounge in Southampton and started a subscription service to its ethically sourced product.

Adam said: “Sailors’ Society has been supporting seafarers for almost two hundred years and with 100 per cent of BySea’s profits going directly to the charity’s work, it helps us to broaden our fundraising.”

If you’re not able to make it to this weekend’s Land Rover Show, you can submit your entry online at www.BySea.org/landy.
