Norden, in partnership with The A/S D/S Orients Fond, have funded minibuses in some of the busiest ports of Brazil and the Philippines. The minibuses are a crucial part of the service we offer seafarers, providing free transport to local facilities which may otherwise be inaccessible during their short time at shore. Each minibus carries the Norden logo, giving brand recognition whilst providing vital support for seafarers.
Lloyd's Register has been supporting our Emergency Welfare Fund since 2011, which enables us to provide financial support for seafarers in instances of great need. In 2016 LR also sponsored our Woolly Hat Week, during which we ask employees to wear a woolly hat to work and make a donation. In addition LR regularly participate in Sailors’ Society fundraising and challenge events.
Noble Group has been headline sponsor of our annual Hong Kong Shipping Dinner since 2011. Since then the dinner has raised more than USD 500,000. The most recent project to benefit directly from Noble Group’s generosity was our Rebuild Philippines programme, providing new homes, community centres, classrooms and livelihoods for thousands in Filipino seafaring communities affected by the 2013 super typhoon.
Augustea has supported the development of our Chaplaincy App, now called ShipVisitor-ICMA. The app has revolutionised the way in which port chaplains provide reports on their work.

The Baltic Exchange has been supporting Sailors’ Society since 2006. Over the past ten years they have provided high level sponsorship and participation in our Three Peaks Challenge event as well as entering teams into our Asian Challenge. They have regularly participated in, and funded, our annual Goodwood Golf Day and sponsored our carol service. They are also directly helping to fund our chaplain in Singapore.
Pacific Basin supports us through event sponsorship and participation and corporate donations and has been a key partner since 2006, donating more than £203,000 to our work across the world. Staff have joined us at our fundraising dinners in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as our Asian Challenge events and the corporation sponsored five years of running costs for our minibus for seafarers in Manila.
UKP&I Club is sponsoring the emotional wellness module of Wellness at Sea. The training, the second in a set of five modules, is designed to improve emotional well-being through early identification of mental health issues and empowerment of the seafarer to handle challenging situations at sea.
Steamship Mutual is supporting the physical wellness module of Wellness at Sea through a sponsorship package. Wellness at Sea seeks to support the mental and physical health of seafarers in a holistic manner, addressing five specific needs: social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual wellness.
McMurdo Group chose Sailors’ Society to be its charity of the year in 2015-2016. Staff have been taking part in weekly dress down days as well as Woolly Hat Week and World Maritime Day. The company joined our Cutty Sark shipping dinner, entered a team at our Goodwood Golf day and has sponsored staff members to abseil down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker tower.
