Crofton Park Baptist Church’s Welcome Inn lunch club donated £60 as well as woolly hats and clothes to maritime charity Sailors’ Society on Wednesday (30 January) after hearing about the organisation’s work with seafarers around the world.

Judith Seymour from the group, said, “It was really interesting to hear Jorgie talk about the crucial role seafarers play in every day life and how Sailors’ Society supports them globally.”

After the talk, the group presented Sailors’ Society’s community coordinator, Jorgie Fleming, with a cash donation as well as woolly hats for seafarers and bags of clothes for the organisation’s charity shops.

Jorgie said, “We’re really grateful to Judith and everyone at Crofton Park Baptist Church and especially the knitters of the congregation for showing such an interest in merchant seafarers and their generous donations to Sailors’ Society’s cause.”
