Sea Sunday

Calming the Storm - pray for seafarers this Sea Sunday

SEAFARERS NEED YOUR PRAYERS

Every year, we join with churches around the world to celebrate Sea Sunday.

This is a time to remember the world’s 1.89 million seafarers in prayer, to give thanks for the crucial work they do and support them by donating to our ongoing global work providing practical, emotional and spiritual welfare support to crew and their families.

The second Sunday in July is set aside for Sea Sunday, but you can celebrate anytime in the year that suits your church programme.

And whether you have two minutes or an entire service to highlight Sea Sunday, we are delighted you are supporting Sailors’ Society, as we help support the world’s seafarers who bring us more than 90 per cent of everything we use and own.

‘Calming the Storm’.

Taking our inspiration from the story of Jesus calming the storm, from Matthew’s Gospel, we are reminded not only of the power of faith but of the unpredictability of life and how storms can beset us all.
