Project Manager

The Programme team at Sailors’ Society is currently seeking a Project Manager whose role it will be to manage projects of varying size and degrees of complexity.  With a budget responsibility of £500K the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project management and is accountable for project delivery within our varied portfolio.

For this most interesting role, you will need proven experience in project and programme planning, project forecasting and financial management, strong communications skills, be commercially aware in terms of contractual aspects and value added propositions.

This is a client facing role which requires good presentation, communication and organisation skills.  The successful applicant will require flexibility in their work location and possess the ability to work in countries across the world where the Society is based.

You will be joining the Sailors’ Society at a period of expansion as we extend our reach to new horizons for the delivery of our Programmes.  As an international maritime charity we are at the forefront of our industry with a wealth of opportunity available.

Port Chaplain and Public Engagement Officer

The Programme and Media & Advocacy teams of Sailors’ Society are currently seeking a Port Chaplain/Public Engagement Officer who will be based in Scotland.

The requirement of the role is to provide port chaplaincy services and to effectively promote the ministry of the Society to the Christian audience through engagement with churches and community groups, signing them up to our ‘Connect’ partnership scheme, as well as providing port chaplaincy services to include ship visiting, offering welfare support, counselling and general assistance to seafarers irrespective of colour, race or creed. 

If you are an ordained minister with good people and organisational skills and possess the ability to build a good rapport with a wide variety of people, this could be the challenge you are seeking.

You will be joining the Sailors’ Society at a period of expansion as we extend our reach to new horizons for the delivery of our chaplaincy services worldwide.
