A challenge for churches and community groups - taking a fresh look at life at sea

Our Society’s mission in the community is about bringing an awareness of what we do for the merchant seafarer to those people ashore who are living out the radical message of Jesus.  

It’s about raising the profile of the vital work that the maritime community does, telling and sharing why it is important to combat the isolation of those who work constantly at sea for their livelihood. It’s about explaining the spiritual and welfare needs of seafarers.

It’s about getting involved with what is already going on locally. It’s about transferring our knowledge and understanding of the seafaring life to those within your congregation and within the local community. It’s about churches working together to pray for mariners. 

Mostly, it’s about offering outward encouragement to engage in the dynamic process that has proved to be an effective way of offering each area of our work to God’s influence and direction. Bringing hope and understanding to each other about each other. Building fellowship with people who share that common interest of compassion for those who work at sea.

We want to unlock that community potential through awareness. Bring our message to all who want to be a part of a growing community of people of all ages and backgrounds who are discovering what seafarers have to go through, why they need our help and support and how we all, unconsciously, rely on them so heavily.  

We want to eliminate the sense that seafarers themselves are largely a forgotten and ‘invisible’ people. We believe we can do that with your help!
