Support through Financial Grants

Through our global network, the Sailors’ Society can provide limited financial support in times of acute financial difficulty.

Through its Welfare Fund, set aside to deliver emergency financial support to merchant seafarers and their family dependents, the Society can provide immediate relief from financial hardship.

If we are satisfied that the case is one of genuine difficulty brought about through unfortunate circumstances rather than financial mismanagement, then the Society will treat every case sympathetically.

Obviously there are a number of criteria that have to be satisfied before approval and payment of any welfare grant, but so long as we have sufficient funds and the qualifying criteria are met then we will meet the need as soon a possible.
