You can give to our charity in so many ways and we do need your support
Loneliness, danger, harsh weather, cultural isolation and prolonged periods of separation from loved ones are just some of the problems merchant seafarers face nowadays.
Around the world, night and day, the Sailors’ Society provides help and support to those seafarers and their families in need. But to do this we rely on the generosity of people like you to help us continue our vital work. We can’t do this without support - in money or in kind.
To fund this vital work our charity relies mostly on voluntary donations of money and support from individuals, grant foundations, charitable trusts and companies.
There are so many ways that individuals can give to help us sustain our work – donating money, your time, goods or resources.
There are also a variety of ways to donate money for our work – from making a regular donation, creating a fund in memory of a loved one, helping to fund our big projects to leaving a legacy.
For businesses and companies there is a range of opportunities to support us, such as:
- Sponsorship – this brings an excellent range of business benefits.
- Employee fundraising – motivates staff, encourages creativity, improves communications and promotes team-building.
- Partnering with the Sailors’ Society – make us your ‘Charity of the Year’ or fund an area of our work that has synergy with your business.
- Payroll giving – a regular flow of funding helps us plan ahead to provide vital resources and services for those merchant seafarers experiencing isolation and loneliness.
- Pro bono support – there are many ways, other than direct financial contributions, to support us and make a real difference to seafarers’ lives.
- Cause-related marketing – support the Sailors’ Society and market your service or product at the same time.
And why not join us in our Big Appeal for 2010?
