DELOITTE AND SAILORS' SOCIETY CYCLE 2009
A charity pedal though the thriving Port City of Southampton and
surrounding Hampshire countryside
NEW DATE!! Sunday 10th May 2009, Mayflower Park, Southampton.
Staggered starts from 9:30am onwards.
10 miles, 25 miles or 45 miles plus the option of free 2.5 mile
family bike rides to dock head
A fun challenge for everyone, whatever age or ability!
The Deloitte and Sailors' Society Cycle 2009 is a one-day charity
fundraising event. By fundraising and participating you'll be
helping us enrich lives of seafarers and their families around the
world.
Starting and finishing on the Southampton water front at Mayflower
Par, three circular cycle routes follow roads and cycle paths
through Southampton and rural Hampshire. You can ride on your own or
take part in a team.
This is a leisurely pedal - not a race! All three routes will be
marshalled, clearly signed and include refreshment stops en-route,
kindly provided by the Hampshire Women's Institute.
Every cyclist who takes part will receive a T-shirt, goody bag and
medal.
Fun for all the family
Spectators, supporters and cyclists can enjoy entertainment at
Mayflower Park throughout the day, including mountain bike stunt
displays, a bike doctor, great music, stalls, bouncy castle,
licensed bar and local food and drink.
Corporate teams
Looking for a fun, team building challenge? Want to raise funds
for a good cause? Why not enter as a team? A specially
commissioned glass trophy will be awarded to the Highest
Corporate Fundraising Team.
Sponsorship
Although there is no minimum sponsorship, we'd like all
individual cyclists to try to raise at least £50 each.

of Hoburne Holidays. The highest individual fundraiser will win
a trophy and a year's free membership to Sprint Health Club,

Rides
around Dock Head
Port
owner ABP has kindly granted permission for special
rides around the Eastern Dock
which is normally closed to the public.
Cyclists may book a dock ride in addition
to, or instead of, one of the three main
routes. This leisurely
two
and a half
mile
round trip
takes in
Dock Head
where you can look
at the Dock as well
as
admire views across the Solent
- a perfect photo opportunity!
All ages are welcome although
under
18's must be supervised by an adult. Places
are strictly
limited so booking is essential (please fill in and return a
registration form or book in on the day). Although this is a free
ride, a nominal suggested donation of £3 per person would be
